The big question, how much does a hearing aid cost?
That’s a tricky one. The short answer is that a hearing aid can range from $1,000 – $4,000. As you’d expect, the cost depends on a number of factors:
- Degree of hearing loss
- Requirements – one or two hearing aids
- Style – Behind the Ear, In the Ear, Receiver in the Ear, Completely in the Ear
- Technology and features
There are lots of options and we discuss all of these with you at your hearing assessment. It’s important that your lifestyle is taken into consideration. Sure, there is an advantage to having the best technology but we also know that this is not realistic or necessary for a lot of people. We’re not here to sell you the biggest and the best; our role is to listen to you and suggest the most appropriate solution. The decision is entirely yours.
You may also be eligible for Accessable or government funding, which can help reduce the cost of your hearing aid. Our clinicians guide you through this process and will answer any of your questions at your hearing assessment.

Have you been recommended hearing aids and given a quote that you simply couldn’t afford?
Don’t be deterred, this is actually the reason why Simply Hearing was established. We were concerned about the number of people in our community who couldn’t afford hearing aids from the existing hearing aid clinics. We believe that hearing aids should be within our communities reach and that you shouldn’t have to go without. Our aim is to provide affordable hearing aids and we definitely don’t skimp on quality – it is possible!
